What Is This?
Shaun Spalding creates a blog that gives meaning to his life by aggrandizing his personal work and pretending it’s worth talking about. Readers feel a strong sense of apathy toward the posts and decide to look at the pictures and videos while skipping the overwrought text around them. Shaun considers making the text into pictures.

Who is Shaun Spalding?
In 2006 (six years after the apocalypse), Shaun Spalding (dressed in rags) dug his way through the ruins of what once was Gainesville, Florida. Amongst the rubble of The Swamp restaurant, he found a promotional pen advertising 2-for-1 drink specials at Sky Night Club. Using this pen and the robust sense of grit he developed while learning to survive in an uncertain future, Shaun wrote the manuscript of what would become “Because The Boss Said So.” The play became one of the world’s last remaining artistic treasures until it was confiscated by the oppressive New World Order government that censored and sanitized it beyond recognition. Defeated, Shaun now spends his days fondly reminiscing about a pre-Armageddon world and pretending to be a film major at what remains of the University of Florida.

Other people say:

“The way Shaun Spalding sees it, talent is just one component of greatness. The real secret, he said, is to try new things regularly and keep working at them. Now in his third year as a film and media studies major, Spalding has already received some exciting attention.”

“Shaun toiled day and night on the album artwork for “through the belly of the sea” (our new album, you might have heard about it). We cried, we winced, we’re still not sure if it will be back from the printers in time. He truly made the packaging a work of art and we’re greatly appreciative of him. …we still haven’t paid him.”

“He is one of the few people in this world who literally live the phrase “The buck stops here.” I have in fact told him I will make him a shirt with that on it for the myriad of things that he has done and not just talked about.”

“Shaun Spalding is the Warren Ellis and Stephen Malkmus of the Internet and Music.”
