  So this is old... Flashback to early 2005 when a perfect storm of events occurred. 1. I found out the keyboard I had at home (that we assumed was broken) still worked as a midi controller. 2. I was trying to re-learn how to use audio editing programs after having problems with them on a project. 3. I'd bought the cheapest vocal mic I could find at Best Buy to do a voice over for that same project. 4.   Pumpkin Pie Overture

  So back when we released all dozen copies of Inuit Jargon's first "album," Who Authorized This? my then friend now roommate Tim "remixed" the title song from our Pumpkin Pie Sessions EP and transformed it into the "Pumpkin Pie Overture" I still find the remix hilarious. http://www.isitobvious.com/audio/pumpkin_pie_overture.mp3 Still flush with free time to do anything I felt like, I designed a potential cover for what Tim's Inuit Jargon remix album would be and made it into a wallpaper.   (click to enlarge) Another one of those backgrounds I made for my laptop back in early 2005. I must've had so much free time back then. There are so many of them with weird filenames hidden around my hard drive. I've realized the amount of money I make is almost a direct inverse proportion to the amount of free time I have.   An "Autobiographical photo series" for the first project Jean Dennison assigned in her Visual Anthropology class Freshman year (2005). Apparently, I didn't understand the assignment. (click the photos to enlarge) Lens flare? Ewwwww... Now that I think about it, this really marks the beginning of a trend for all of my video and photo projects: Making people dress up in silly costumes.   Beatnik Factory

  In 2005, Vishal and I had plans (that fell through) to start a small t-shirt company called Beatnik Factory. This is a test logo I came up with, but Vishal wanted something more pixel-arty. This is one of the few logos I made back then that I actually still like.
