Keep Your Hands Where I Can See Them

Moustache Party (25.1mb)

My [almost] successful attempt at making a “youtube-style” video that speaks to the proletariat as opposed to film students.

I wanted the whole thing to be one take, but in the end, the close-ups help tie up the loose ends from editing the 3 different takes together, and they clarify things quite a bit.

The idea came from a video Danny did for an Upstart Films contest. I decided to remake the video, (which was just the lip-syncing) and attempted to make it “better” using confetti, bubbles, and absurdism. It probably ended up about 70% how I imagined it in my head.

As for problems, I think the lack of light gets in the way of the lip-syncing (which is supposed to be the main point of the video) quite a bit, especially in these compressed versions. I couldn’t use the brighter takes because the moustache fell off half-way through and I didn’t like the look. C’est la vie.

Here’s how it looks on Youtube: terrible as usual, but what can you do.
